Fully automated multi-media test bench for valves

Valves used in the food and pharmaceutical industries must operate reliably even when exposed to changing media, high temperatures and numerous switching cycles. To simulate these conditions under realistic operating conditions, Fäth developed and manufactured a fully automated multi-media test bench for Bürkert.

The customised system allows media, temperatures, pressures, cycle numbers and switching times to be defined individually. Fluidic components can therefore be tested for functionality, resistance and service life under reproducible conditions.

How does the multi-media test bench work?

The fully automated test bench has six test chambers, allowing different valves and test sequences to be examined within a single system.

Depending on the respective test requirements, media such as water, acids and compressed air can be used. The media sequences can be programmed individually and adapted to the components being tested.

Variable test parameters include:
– test medium
– temperature
– operating pressure
– number of test cycles
– valve switching times
– duration of the test
– sequence sequence of the media

Combining these parameters enables a wide range of reproducible test scenarios.

Customised system solution from Fäth

The multi-media test bench was tailored to Bürkert’s specific requirements. Fäth combined the media supply, piping systems, test chambers, tanks, measurement and control technology, and automated control system into one complete solution.
